Jeffrey D. Mullen Presents Vintage Basketball Cards

A GUIDE TO THE HOBBIES BEST

Rob Lahammer -- Collector -- Arguably the nicest guy you will ever meet, rob Lahammer is at the top because he is the only other collector with a vintage basketball card site.  In fact, Rob's site was the main inspiratory reason why I started this endeavor.  Some of the pictures on this site are ... you guessed courtesy (although I never did officially ask permission to use them) of Rob.  In addition to being one of the largest and most knowledgeable minds in the hobby, Rob has the time (and even more mysterious the money) to be one of the largest collectors and refurbishers of vintage machine games.  If you want to see some cool vintage basketball cards and games ... click on www.lahammer.com immediately.  Rob is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Ron Connolly -- Collector -- You will hear Ron's name in any vintage basketball conversation.  Ron undisputedly has the largest vintage basketball collection in the world.  If you literally want to touch any vintage basketball card, simply go over to his house.  Ron is located in California.

Hank Reizes -- Collector/Dealer -- Hank is the reason why I am poor.  Hank was a collector that has just entered into retirement and is currently selling his collection.  Hank is located in Pheonix Arizona.

Doug N. --  Collector -- When I was a young lad in the hobby, Doug is where I found most of my information because of his close proximity to me (NYC).  Doug has calmed down a bit on collecting vintage basketball cards (and I pray every night that he doesn't decide to come back to this area of the hobby).  However, Doug is one of the premiere collectors of vintage basketball memorabilia.  Doug is located in Brooklyn, NY.

Steve Taft --  Collector/Dealer -- Steve is another reason I find myself bringing lunch to work.  Steve has been dubbed as the "ashland/oil" guy.  With a small horde of 1955 Ashland/Aeta Oil cards, Steve deserves a definite call every month from everyone in the hobby.  Steve always seems to come across "good stuff".  My favorite purchases from Steve include high grade Ashland/Aetna's,  carnations, and my beloved Busch Bavarian Beer set.

Rick Snyder -- Dealer -- If you are looking for PSA graded 1969/1970 Topps, Rick Snyder of Mint State Inc. can fill most want lists.  Check his site if you are looking for any card from a mainstream issue in a high grade.  His PSA graded "for sale" list in this category is the best on the web.  Rick also has made some of the more historic private sales of high grade mainstream PSA cards.  If you are wondering how I was able to obtain so much information on private sales of mainstream cards (on my Notable Sales page), Rick was the reason. www.mintstateinc.com

Alan Trost -- Memorabilia -- Nicknamed "Goofy", Alan is an all around nice guy ... the only problem is that Allen solely collects memorabilia :-)  But I'm glad that Allen doesn't go after the cards ... makes things cheaper on the rest of us.  Anyway, if you want someone to talk to about vintage memorabilia, Allen deserves a call.  Email me for his contact information.

Pat Vesper -- Collector --  Pat has the best B-33 collection in the world and collects primarily turn of the century postcards, felts, silks, blankets, leathers, and memorabilia such as guides, programs, and cabinets.  Pat lives in Texas and is a great guy.  I mean I think I first "met" pat through a simple email then befriended him over a two hour phone conversation and now we exchange emails every once and awhile.

Jason Seligman -- "Dr. Jason" -- Collector -- Jason is a collector of vintage basketball card packs and, thankfully, has been kind enough to help supply this site with pictures of numerous trays, packs, boxes, and rack packs.
