1948 KELLOGGS PEP VINTAGE BASKETBALL CARDS

George Mikan is the only basketball card in this sports and celebrity set. The card books for about $800, but you can find one on ebay for $250 every few months. However, if you find a really nice example and its $500, buy it. They are notorious for having a crease along one of the corners. I think the reason for this is because it has a very shiny surface that appears to be a polymer and it seems like it is the polymer that is prone to creasing. Most examples, however, have really good corners. However, centering is also a problem. Specifically, top to bottom centering is always a problem (Mikan is always 'low' on the card). Left to right centering is less of a problem but still a problem nonetheless (the above example actually has a better than average left to right centering. I expect these cards to go up tremendously in value over the next five years because it is a 1948 card of George Mikan. If I recall correctly, this was issued after the 1948 bowman cards.
